Odyssey House to Break Ground on
New Community-Based Housing Project in East Harlem
Read fact sheet on 123rd Street | View press coverage & photos Odyssey House will break ground on construction of a 50-unit apartment building for men and women with special needs in East Harlem. The building will provide a supportive, independent living environment for individuals who have overcome many life challenges, including mental health problems and drug, alcohol and/or significant medical conditions. The project was developed by Odyssey House with support from the New York State Office of Mental Health and the New York City Department of Housing Preservation and Development. The building was designed by Urban Architectural Initiatives. Please see the attachment for an architectural rendering of the project.
Odyssey House provides quality substance abuse treatment, mental health, medical, and housing services to vulnerable New Yorkers. Family-focused residential and outpatient treatment meets the needs of women with children, adolescents, young adults, the mentally ill, the homeless, people with HIV/AIDS, and senior citizens.
